Ukrainian Community in North Ayrshire

Exploring Scotland’s Academic and Cultural Heart
Our Ukrainian community continues to explore the cultural treasures of Scotland. This time, members of the Hromada Cultural and Historical Club took a meaningful trip to Glasgow — a city rich in history, education, and architecture. This journey gave us the opportunity to connect with Scotland’s heritage while strengthening the bonds within our own community.

A Day of Discovery – History, Art, and Home Comforts
On October 16, 2024, the Hromada Cultural and Historical Club set off for an inspiring cultural trip to Glasgow. The day began with a visit to the iconic University of Glasgow, founded in 1451 — one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Scotland. We explored the university’s museum and gallery, admired its breathtaking architecture, and felt the deep academic and historical atmosphere of this incredible place.
Next, we visited the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, where we were captivated by world-class art collections and historical exhibits. Surrounded by beauty and heritage, we took time to reflect and share impressions.
To end the day, we enjoyed a walk through Kelvingrove Park — a peaceful and scenic green space in the heart of the city. Our last stop brought warmth and nostalgia as we visited the Eastern European, Baltic and Ukrainian Food Shop, where we found familiar foods and flavors that reminded us of home.
This journey was not only educational and enriching but also filled with connection, laughter, and memories that will stay with us for years to come.
